THE EGG

The Egg has now been running for 11 glorious years with DJ Chris Henman. It all began when he found himself wandering half lost around the Mojave Desert where he had a vision of a sentinel being who said to him “ if you build it - they will come “.
So, bored with running a men’s self-help group, Chris took it upon himself to “do something for the kids”, and liven up their dark, humdrum, run of the mill Saturday nights. The egg was hatched! And continues every Saturday night at the Wee Red bar (Edinburgh College of Art). He delights us with his mix of indie , 60’s garage and soul, 70’s punk and Ska into the wee small hours of Sunday morning (often continuing into the hours of Sunday evening)

Coming from a long line of DJ’s, going back seven generations, Chris is made up by keeping the family tradition alive. He describes The Egg as “being the quest for pure sanity expressed through music and dance”. I am a wee bit concerned about his prediction that the Latino, punk and new romantic crossover is gonna be huge this summer and that the Crazy Frog will go onto dominate the world. I can only assume that at the time of conversation his drink had been spiked! Toddle along to see him at The Wee Red Bar every Saturday night for the HENMANIA experience.
